Welcome to CaveMagic--a web site devoted to the extreme sport of cave diving, especially as it is practiced in the underground rivers of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Our intent is to showcase some of the staggering natural beauty offered by these submerged caves in the form of deluxe quality adventure art posters. While these images may appeal to the small community of certified cave divers—perhaps 10,000 men and women on a world-wide basis—we’d also like to share them with those who will never set foot (or fin) in such a unique environment. Already mankind has attained (we won’t say ‘conquered’) the earth’s highest mountain peaks and deepest oceanic trenches. Only during the last few decades, though, have developments in training and technology made it possible to access such rarefied settings as the Yucatan’s underwater caverns and caves. Sights unseen by human eyes throughout the course of history may now literally be brought to light. |
